3D print strong & heat resistant objects with PLA Glossy

PLA Glossy is a new type of PLA that is much stronger than regular PLA and has a heat resistance up to 75°C. This means that you can use it for mechanical parts. For example, you can use the 3D printed parts in a hot car during summer without the risk of your 3D print getting soft.

How to 3D print PLA Glossy

PLA Glossy is used the same way as regular PLA, but in a slightly higher temperature range. Your 3D printing temperature should be between 210 – 230°C (typical is 220°C). The filament should be used with a heated build plate for best results. Depending on the size of your 3D print, you can use it within a range of 20 – 90°C (typical is 60°C). For regular 3D prints set the print speed to 40-60 mm/s.

We recommend that you use PrimaFIX on your build surface for best adhesion and to avoid warping.

Contacted me immediately to say not in stock and advised it could take a week to get the specific colour I wanted. Offered a refund but I waited and it came after a few days. Excellent communication throughout.

The filament is shiny and looks nice, although calling it "gold" is a bit misleading in my opinion, "shiny yellow" would be a better description. My main issue with it is poor layer adhesion, when printing thin parts they can break easily. The Creality CR filament (the only other filament I tried on my printer, I am new to 3D printing) is much stronger and doesn't suffer from poor layer adhesion in my experience, but of course it doesn't look nearly as good.

More yellow than gold, so a bit disappointed the colour. Had to print at the higher temperature otherwise it was quite brittle.

Really hard to get a good solid print from this filament.
It curls up and lifts from the bed, I've even tried to use a glue stick with this filament but it doesn't seem to help.
It is without doubt the worst filament I have ever worked with.
