It’s been a scorcher this July—perfect weather for a picnic. Whether you’re lounging on a blanket under the sun or setting a table in the shade, there’s something special about having your drink of choice on display. A bottle of wine always looks the part (and of course, non-alcoholic options are equally welcome).
For our picnic setup, we went with a particularly charming wine holder: a design from our friends over at STLFlix that looks like a stack of rustic corks. To achieve that natural, earthy look, we printed it in Polymaker Polywood filament. The name might suggest actual wood fibres, but there’s none here—meaning you can print it on just about any machine without worrying about blockages or clogs. Instead, the filament expands slightly as it prints, creating a soft, textured “wood-grain” finish.
Want to take it a step further? Try painting the tips of a few corks with a thin wash of deep burgundy—just enough to hint at a history of fine red wines. It’s a subtle touch that can really make the piece pop.
